Farebookings iOS Driver App — TestFlight setup

A step-by-step walkthrough for approved drivers: what credentials you need, how to install the Farebookings driver app on iPhone via TestFlight, and how to sign in for your first shift.

Before you begin — what you'll need

Have these ready before you start. Missing credentials are the most common reason a setup call takes longer than 15 minutes.

  • Apple ID email

The email tied to your iPhone's Apple ID. TestFlight invites are sent to this address — it must be the same account signed into your device.

  • Farebookings driver login

A username and password issued by our onboarding team for app.farebookings.com. You'll use these to sign in inside the iOS app after installing it.

  • Approved driver status

Your driver application must be approved. We only issue credentials to drivers who have completed licence, insurance and DBS checks.

  • An iPhone running iOS 15 or later

TestFlight requires iOS 15+. Older devices can't install beta builds. iPad is also supported.

Your Apple ID email and your Farebookings driver login are two different things. TestFlight uses the Apple ID; the app itself uses the Farebookings credentials we issue.

Step-by-step installation

  1. Request access

Fill in the Farebookings access form on the drivers page with your Apple ID email, phone and device. We use the Apple ID to send your TestFlight invite.

  2. Install TestFlight from the App Store

On your iPhone, open the App Store, search for 'TestFlight' by Apple, and install it. Sign in with the same Apple ID you gave us.

  3. Accept your TestFlight invite

Within 1–2 working days you'll receive two emails from Apple: 'You're invited to test Farebookings Driver' and a redeem code. Tap 'View in TestFlight' or 'Start Testing' on your iPhone.

  4. Install the Farebookings Driver beta

TestFlight opens to the Farebookings Driver page. Tap Install (or Update). The app appears on your home screen with an orange dot indicating a beta build.

  5. Sign in with your driver credentials

Open the Farebookings Driver app. Enter the username and password we issued for app.farebookings.com. If prompted, allow Notifications and Location Always — both are required for dispatch to reach you.

  6. Go on shift

Set your status to Available. You'll start receiving job offers from our Farebookings dispatch. Accept or decline within the timer — repeated declines pause your account.

iPhone permissions to allow

iOS will prompt for these the first time you open the app. If you tap "Don't allow" by mistake, enable them under Settings → Farebookings Driver.

  • Notifications

Required. Job offers are pushed instantly — with notifications off you will miss work.

  • Location — Always

Required. Dispatch needs your live position to match you to nearby bookings, including when the app is in the background.

  • Background App Refresh

Required. Keeps the driver socket alive between jobs so pings arrive without delay.

Signing in to the web dashboard

The same credentials work at app.farebookings.com. Use the web dashboard to view your job history, weekly statement, and update your vehicle details.
